Arighna Ray - Youth Category - Guitar - Gold & Silver Medalist - India
My journey of being in love with music started when I was 4 years old. However, I started formally learning music (Indian Classical, Rabindra sangeet and contemporary) when I was 8 years old with singing and playing the acoustic guitar. I can now sing in four different languages – English, Bengali, Hindi & Marathi. I also learned to play the harmonica and the “tabla” – an Indian percussion instrument.
I am in Class IX and there is a lot of focus on academics. But I always finds time for music – it is what I love and helps me unwind. I like trying new genres – both classical as well as contemporary. I have also done public performance in my school.
These results and recognitions are extremely important to me – this tells me that I am on the right path. I have also passed 8thyear from my own state music organisation.
I want to continue learning music and improving it. I know it is a long journey but I eagerly look forward to it. I want music to be with me by my side for my whole life. Music is my passion. Music fulfils me – it completes me.
